ABOUT
Meet your instructor, Leya Kutzer! She has been riding for over 20 years, and was your typical horse-crazy kid, begging for riding lessons before the age of four. With a western riding base, she has spent the past six years training with coaches of various disciplines and backgrounds, picking up basic English disciplines and discovering a love for teaching, training, working with rescues, liberty work, and other opportunities that offer an insight into the equine brain.

After noticing the educational holes left by riding programs that offered only saddle time, which left students unprepared to safely care for the horses that just took care of them under saddle, (and unprepared to own their own horse someday!) she decided to strive towards educating her students in all areas of the horse world. Teaching safety at every step so that it becomes second-nature, while encouraging empathy and understanding towards animals, she found that this relaxing environment (for both horse and rider) fostered connections like no other. Her lessons focus on providing joy and enrichment for both human and horse, and she realized that this strategy created the perfect subtle teaching moments even for young children, allowing the student to lead the way while also slowly becoming an expert in equine psychology and horsemanship.
Students that ride with Leya gain communication skills, a healthy sense of respect for animals, and a fostering mentor who alters her teaching style to fit every individual's needs. There is nothing more rewarding to Leya than cultivating confidence, leadership, empathy, creativity, and a passion for horses in riders of all ages.

Meet Venus! Leya's personal horse, a 14 year old Quarter horse, is endlessly patient when teaching kids and loves showing off all of her Liberty tricks!
